It is dating bliss for a large part of the UK’s boy/girl band scene at the moment. Zayn Malik of One Direction fame and Perrie Edwards from Little Mix confirmed rumours of dating with a kiss prior to Zayn and his band’s departure to tour the US. Speculations have flown around the celebrity circuit for months now. It is good to have closure on the issue.
Zayn and Perrie have lots in common. Apart from both being one fifth of the UK’s hottest acts at the moment to grace the chart music scene. Both music making ensembles originate from hit talent show The X Factor. Zayn entered in 2010 and Perrie in 2011. They both intended to compete in the competition as solo artists.
However neither singer considered getting a love story involving a whirlwind romance. Let’s hope they can keep up the dating long distance as One Direction has just cracked America, becoming the first British band to top the Billboard 100. A feat that even The Beatles could not achieve. The power of the modern teenage girl will never be underestimated again. The same fans might be the biggest threat to their relationship, their jealously and intent to be the one’s dating Zayn. Will their union survive?
